Bur Reeds Sparganium spp are aquatic plants with long leaves that sit with the blade facing the stem. They have tiny flowers and spiky ball shaped seed heads.
Branched Bur Reed Sparganium erectum: An erect plant with branched stems 50 - 150 cm tall. The lower part of the leaves is keeled (V- shaped in section), wrapping around the stem somewhat. Found in both still and flowing fresh water, flowering June to August. Common.
